Unfortunately, WTO has earned the reputation of favoring developed countries as opposed to its objective of fostering global trade. This has resulted in the failure of initial rounds of negotiations. However in Doha, a consensus on issues of vital importance was achieved thanks to improved understanding between the developing and developed countries. The consensus provided WTO with the much required momentum to take the multilateral trade agreement furthur. The member nations also agreed upon an ambitious Doha Development Agenda.
