Summary: Business in the new age is not only performance-centric but also people-centric. The prime challenge that confronts management of organizations today is essentially leadership dressed up with strategy, which represents business approaches and competitive moves to unleash the undiscovered potential in people in order to generate growth. A Conference on "Strategic Thought in the New Age Management" was organised by The Business School of the University of Jammu. The purpose of this conference was to analyse the human resource management practices and marketing paradigms from a strategic viewpoint. This volume is a constellation of research papers encompassing diverse domains and diverse mix of methodologies. The papers that were presented during the conference include some marketing topics like customer equity, customer relationship management, motivational research, positioning issues, etc., and some strategic management topics such as peripheral scanning, competitive advantage, corporate social responsiveness and tourism management strategy. The purpose of compiling this book is to disseminate widely the knowledge accumulated in the research papers of the conference. It is hoped that the book would prove useful to the professionals, academicians, practitioners, research scholars and students of the discipline.
