520 _aCase studies represent an organisation's origin, its operations and its surrounding environment. A good case enables the students to take quick decisions in a realistic situation with lesser chances for committing mistakes. The case study method helps students to acquire the ability of placing textbook knowledge about business into practice. Students acquire the skills of detecting problems and analyzing and evaluating alternatives in order to achieve workable plans. This book is a compendium of 13 case studies developed by the management students of first batch of Parul Institute of Management, Vadodara. These cases are based on 13 first-generation entrepreneurial organizations, selected from three different cities (Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune). This exercise helped the students to understand the very basic purpose of establishing these organizations by collecting all the relevant information, since inception till date, and about various divisions/sections of these establishments in order to write a case on them. These cases are intended to give the readers an idea about the complexity of the problem-solving process required in real-life situations and not for criticising any managerial decision. It has been hoped that this new initiative will help to inculcate the qualities of entrepreneurship among the students' community and to bring industry closer to the academic institutions.
